A Little Bit About Me
Salaams.
I think the best way to describe who I am is to tell a story.
As a teen, I worked a summer job in an art department with a boss who is best described as a calm, fatherly, unflappable man. He was always up for fun pranks and was masterful in avoiding falling victim to retaliation.
One day he informed me that later in the week, there would be a rare evening he would leave earlier than usual leaving me alone. My chance for a prank had finally arrived. I purchased a few supplies and carefully brought them to work throughout the week, hiding them care. Once he left for the evening, I went about my plan. His work area consisted of a table and a few plastic lawn chairs. Using chain, I hoisted the table upside down from the ceiling rafters and screwed the chairs upside down as well.
I arrived early the following morning and hid to witness the reaction. I heard footsteps approach, pause, continue, and then a loud sound followed by the sound of a chair dragging on the floor. Circling around to the front entrance, I walked in as if nothing were awry. To my chagrin, seated in a plastic lawn chair now missing part of one leg is my boss, still as unflappable as ever, eating sunflower seeds as if it were just a normal day.
To my knowledge, over 20 years later, the remnants of the lawn chair leg are still on the ceiling.
I like to think I have a good combination of optimism mixed with realistic expectations. I enjoy artistic and creative thinking coupled with a nerdy streak; I really love Star Trek, The Price is Right, and retro tech YouTube videos. Concurrently, I like sports and desi dramas.
I’ve lived the current chapter of my life with one foot in the desi community. I was married to a Pakistani woman. As such, this has become a community of which I find comfort and familiarity. I am presently separated pending a divorce. I am open to candid discussion about this however, the short of it is my wife with not faithful in the marriage.
For me, a relationship is about learning, growing, and sharing interests. Of the two partners who make a relationship, each must remain true to who they are and share that experience and independence with the other.

What I Am Looking For
Someone who values modesty and candor with a wry wit combined with wisdom who finds the prank that I described before as funny. My preference is to remain with someone from a desi background and who would love to help me continue to grow as a Muslim.
You’re comfortable just “being” and equally so sitting on a waterfront watching a sunset. Hopefully you’re okay visiting beaches as I try to go to the beach to sit and relax at least a few times a year.
I love to cook and keep a tidy house and would like to find someone who shares these sentiments so that we can share culinary creations and have the home be a refuge from the world.
